I found an old copy: audiooss_1.0.0.orig.tar.gz, from Debian's archives.
It compiles and works (Solaris 10u10, Firefox 13.0.1) as 10 years ago.

Thank you for the hint, Paul.  I no longer need a laptop beside me to
hear the Internet.
