audiooss 1.1.0 is the newest there is. (There is the freebsd hack
version as well, available upon request)

A common problem with f.ex. xmms is that it might be set to use ESD.

Haven't tried codeweaver+quicktime, so "untested" is an accurate
description. Might work. Enable debugging in audiooss and see whether it's
used at all, or something else happens. If you get no debug output,
audiooss is out of the loop.

Wine+winamp used to work, FSVOW, however :)
