since i'm not familiar with emacs ;-), what exactly does that
mean?

if i put together a patch that turns the server into roughly K&R
style, with 4 column indents, no tabs, would that work for
everyone?

and as long as i'm doing it, can i ansify it too?  (i.e., prototypes?)
