On an amd64 running Debian sid and nas 1.7, I get a segfault:

# nasd -aa &
[1] 14843
config: Maxfrags set to 3
config: Minfrags set to 2
config: Fragsize set to 256
config: Maxfrags set to 3
config: Minfrags set to 2
config: Fragsize set to 256

[1]+ Segmentation fault nasd -aa

syslog

kernel: nasd[14843]: segfault at ffffffffbfffffcb rip 0000002a956e84d0
rsp 0000007fbffff978 error 4

If I run nas from init.d, I get this:

Starting the Network Audio System
config: Maxfrags set to 3
config: Minfrags set to 2
config: Fragsize set to 256
config: Maxfrags set to 3
config: Minfrags set to 2
config: Fragsize set to 256
/usr/bin/start-nas: line 2: 15031 Segmentation fault nice -n -10
/usr/bin/nasd -b "$@"

kernel: nasd[15031]: segfault at ffffffffbfffffdb rip 0000002a956e84d0
rsp 0000007fbffff8e8 error 4

Strace has

open("/etc/nas//nasd.conf", O_RDONLY) = 3
ioctl(3, SNDCTL_TMR_TIMEBASE or TCGETS, 0x7fbffff050) = -1 ENOTTY
(Inappropriate ioctl for device)

Suggestions?

Cheers,
Dave

BTW, http://www.radscan.com/nas.html#DOWNLOAD claims " The Release
version is now 1.7 (11/14/2002)"
It matters that it's recent, of course, showing the application is
maintained.
