what you might be forgetting is that in any given nas installation,
there are probably more client pieces than server pieces. i have
just three nasd servers running in the house, but many many
instances of auplay, madplay_nas, aumix, etc, scattered
throughout various scripts on various systems. i'm not looking
forward to finding and replacing all those aufoo programs if i were
to want to switch to PA for some reason.

p.s. believe it or not, we even use auedit -- my wife finds the
"replay segment between markers" feature to be incredibly useful
for practicing her chorus part, using demo music that's handed
out for that purpose.
That's just sick. (The young ones tell me that sick = cool these
days :)
